Lyman Briggs College

Lyman Briggs College is an undergraduate, residential college founded in 1967 by dedicated individuals hoping to bridge the widening gap between sciences and humanities. The first of its kind, the college has become known as the institution students go to for an excellent foundation in science and mathematics with additional focus on history, philosophy and sociology of science.

The Center for Public Health and Community Genomics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health promotes the integration of genomic discoveries into public health practice in furtherance of the public health goals of improving health and reducing and eliminating health disparities. The Center emphasizes the ethical, legal, and social issues associated with the application of genomics and public health and the importance of engaging the community at large in the development and implementation of public health genetics programs. Project role: providing genomic curriculum content, developing and evaluating community-school activities and project evaluation.

Center for Engineering Education Research (CEER)

CEER was established in 2009 to promote research applied to education in the College of Engineering and, more broadly, to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education across the university. The main goal of CEER is to facilitate a college-wide effort to continually improve the educational environment by conducting experiments based on effective models of learning and by systematically assessing the outcomes.

CREATE for STEM at Michigan State University (Collaborative Research in Education, Assessment, and Teaching Environments for the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is a joint endeavor of the College of Natural Science and the College of Education. Our goal is to improve teaching and learning in STEM disciplines for students grades K-16 through research and development. Project role: overall responsibility for project and specific responsibility for developing and evaluating of the curriculum.

Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History

This museum is the world's largest institution dedicated to the African American experience. Our mission is to open minds and change lives through the exploration and celebration of African American history and culture. Established in 1965, the Wright Museum houses over 35,000 artifacts and archival materials. Project role: members of the project team planning, hosting, and evaluating informal science education activities in coordination with formal classroom curriculum.

BEACON: Center for the Study of Evolution in Action

Research at BEACON focuses on biological evolution, digital evolution, and evolutionary applications in engineering, uniting biologists who study natural evolutionary processes with computer scientists and engineers who are harnessing these processes to solve real-world problems.
