Two AACR research papers featured in special AI research topic
Two recent research papers from the AACR group, written by lead author Dr. Leonora Kaldaras, were published in a special Research Topic in Frontiers in Education. The special topic is focused on AI for Tackling STEM Education Challenges.
One of the papers (https://doi.org/10.3389/feduc.2022.983055) describes a process for developing rubrics aligned to NGSS assessments and which are usable with AI-scoring systems, like the Constructed Response Classifier. The second paper (https://doi.org/10.3389/feduc.2022.968289) reports on the validity evidence for two different approaches to automated scoring of student responses.
